EBC uses the best materials for its pads, such as the strongest aramid fibers like Dupont® Kevlar® or Twaron®, used in the “Green Stuff” compounds.

Kevlar®, for example, is a laboratory-created fiber that is 6 times stronger than steel when used in a composite matrix. It is resistant to oils and chemicals, can withstand temperatures above 1000°C, and despite this, is very non-abrasive. The result is therefore great resistance to stress and stable performance combined with limited disc wear, which, by wearing less, also reduces the production of those residues (black dust) that accumulate on the wheels.

The “Yellow Stuff” compound is designed for competition and for some very high-performance cars. Despite its decidedly racing characteristics for fatigue and temperature resistance, the “Yellow Stuff” compound offers an unusual ability to brake well even at relatively low temperatures, which is not common for racing materials.
